How Long Will Steve Sing For?
Steve does a maximum of two 45 minute sets if he is using backing
tracks. However, he can perform for much longer if he is singing
with a pianist, duo or a trio. With any of these line ups he can
provide a full evenings entertainment mixing instrumental numbers
with his vocal repertoire.
What Happens When Steve Takes A Break?
This isn't usually a problem as Steve usually has
a CD player that he can plug into his PA system. Alternatively
he can usually liaise with the event organisers to have recorded
music play when he stops.
Does Steve need some sort
of cover if he is performing outside?
Protection from the elements is vital. The heat
from the sun can be very harmful to electronic equipment and a
sudden downpour could be disastrous.
So How Much Will It Cost?
Prices are from £300 (for Steve as a solo singer with backing
tracks) depending on distance from venue and other requirements.

If
we hire a bass player in the line up will he play a proper bass?
No offence to bass guitar players, but most people
refer to a double bass as a proper bass. The bass players Steve
uses (mainly Mike Porter-Ward or Dan Quinton) always play a double
bass which you can see in the photograph to the right.
Will it be noisy if we have a drummer in the line
up?
No, the drummers Steve uses (usually Dave Trigwell
or Roy Jackson) are skilled jazz drummers and are capable of playing
very quietly. They are also masters of the long lost art of playing
with brushes which is ideal for background music. Also, the drum
kit that they use is different from that of a rock drummer - one
of the key differences being the diminutive size of the bass drum.
A jazz kit does not produce anywhere near the same volume level
as a rock kit.
Where can I hear Steve play live?
This website will be updated with any information about up and
coming public events and gigs. Most of his work is either corporate
or private but he also does a reasonable number of public performances.
