Steve
Conway has been singing professionally for the last fifteen years
and has sung at many wedding receptions, private parties and corporate
events in Hampshire, Berkshire, London and other areas of the UK.
Steve has performed as a Rat Pack Singer and Jazz
Singer at some of the south's finest venues including Wentworth
Golf club, The Lainesborough Hotel and Kensington Roof Gardens.
His performances have not been restricted to the south however -
he has sung throughout the UK and his talent has even taken him
to Florence and Northern Spain.
Steve's style is mostly based on material from the Rat Pack Era.
I must, however, emphasise that Steve is not a tribute act. His
vocal style vocal has been forged from his own love of the great
vocalists of the past which include: Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole
and Harry Connick Junior. Although Steve has been influenced by
these singers - he pocesses his own distinctive and characteristic
sound.
What's new then
Steve has a lot of experience working with various bands and ensembles
as well as doing quite a lot of work with backing tracks. Steve's
influences have been wide and varied but he has always had a deep
interest in the jazz and swing era. So it is not surprising that
a chance meeting with Surrey based jazz pianist Eugene
Portman set a whole new project rolling. Their interests lie
in the sames styles of music and they just seemed to to gel on the
first occasion they worked together. The style of music they perform
is sophisticated with an easy jazz feel.
Services
Steve is available as a jazz singer for any wedding, corporate
event, private party or any event where a sophisticated ambience
is the key feature. He will travel to most areas of the UK but most
of his work seems to be around the home counties including Oxfordshire,
Hampshire, Surrey, Berkshire, London, Sussex and Essex.
Steve performs a maximum of 2 X 45 minute sets if he is using backing
tracks. He can, however, provide a full evenings entertainment if
he is hired as a duo, trio or if he is hired with his band. An evenings
entertainment can consist of piano solos, instrumental numbers,
vocal sets and recorded music during breaks.
